EMMA ROBERTS REUNITES WITH EX GARRETT HEDLUND 4 YEARS AFTER SPLIT FOR SON RHODES' 5TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Emma Roberts and her ex Garrett Hedlund got together recently to celebrate their son Rhodes' fifth birthday. In a new Instagram post, the actress shared a carousel of images of their family trip to Universal Orlando Resort with the birthday boy. "so nice we had to go twice! the best belated birthday trip for Rhodes #5 🎂 ♥️ thank you @universalorlando #universalorlandoresort #epicuniverse 🧟♀️🦖⭐️🌏🍦," she wrote.
In one photo, the two co-parents hugged their grinning son and in another, Hedlund stood with his son as they met characters from The Cat in the Hat.
Roberts and Rhodes previously made another trip to Universal Orlando in October. "to say we had the the best time would be an understatement," she captioned a series of photos at the time.
Hedlund and Roberts began dating in 2019 and announced they were expecting a child the following year. They welcomed Rhodes in December 2020.
"Motherhood has given me so much depth in my emotions and understanding, both personally and professionally," she told Harper's Bazaar Spain in December. "Seeing everything through his eyes is beautiful and transforms your perspective on the world. I also find it inspiring for my work."
She added went on to reveal that the journey hasn't always been an easy one. "I've had some dark nights postpartum. Using those emotions creatively is interesting," she said. "My son is about to turn five, and I feel like I'm still discovering who I am, as a person and as a mother. I try to do my best, although I don't always succeed, but I try."
Hedlund and Roberts split in early 2022 when Rhodes was one. “It’s sad, and they are trying their best to co-parent. It’s been hard,” an insider told People at the time.
Roberts went on to date Cody John. The pair announced their engagement last April.
