Marvel Studios has announced a large number of characters and actors will be returning for the next Avengers movie.
It was already known that Robert Downey Jr. will feature in Avengers: Doomsday. However, rather than playing Tony Stark (aka Iron Man), Downey will be taking on the role of Doctor Doom.
Marvel Studios yesterday hosted a live, five-hour media event to reveal further actors names.
How about we take this to the next level?

It included a wealth of stars who previously appeared in the X-Men movies.
This includes Ian McKellen (Magento) and Alan Cumming (who portrayed Nightcrawler in the 2003 movie X2: X-Men United).
Cumming reacted to the news with a video in which he jumped up onto steps and recreated his Nightcrawler poses. His caption said, “Never say never!”
Last year, Cumming called the 2003 X-Men movie, “the gayest film I’ve ever done, and that’s me saying that.
“It’s got a queer director [Bryan Singer], lots of queer actors in it. I love the fact that something so mainstream and so in the comic book world is so queer. I think, in a way, those sorts of films really help people understand queerness, because you can address it in an artistic way, and everyone is less scared of the concept.”
He continued, “It’s an allegory about queerness, about people having these great gifts and really great, powerful things that they have to hide to exist. Queer people understand what that’s all about.”
Besides McKellen and Cumming, other X-Men cast to feature in Avengers: Doomsday will include Patrick Stewart (aka Charles Xavier), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), James Marsden (Cyclops), Kelsey Grammer (Beast) and Channing Tatum (Gambit).
Other confirmed names include Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), Wyatt Russell (John Walker), Tenoch Huerta Mejia (Namor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Lewis Pullman (Sentry), Danny Ramirez (Joaquín Torres / Falcon), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Winston C. Duke (M’Baku), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova) and Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost).
The cast of the new Fantastic Four movie will also feature: Pedro Pascal (Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm/Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/Thing).
Marvel fans speculate that more names may yet be announced. Others have expressed disappointment that some of their favorite characters are missing. For example, there’s no word as yet on Spider-Man, the Hulk, Wolverine and Deadpool.
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on May 1, 2026.
