TAYLOR SWIFT CAN’T STOP PRAISING LEONARDO DICAPRIO’S NEW MOVIE: “HOW ARE THEY GOING TO SPLIT THE OSCAR?”
Taylor Swift may be busy celebrating her new album and the record-breaking success of her concert film, but she’s still finding time to enjoy a good movie. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the singer shared that the last film she watched was One Battle After Another, and she couldn’t stop talking about it.
“Chase Infiniti and Teyana Taylor—how are they going to split the Oscar? Benicio was so funny, and Leo was hilarious. We are so lucky to be alive at the same time as Paul Thomas Anderson,” Swift said, clearly impressed by the cast and the film’s director.
One Battle After Another is an action thriller from filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson. It’s based on Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel Vineland and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, and Chase Infiniti. The story follows a former revolutionary who tries to save his daughter from a corrupt military leader.
The movie premiered in Los Angeles in early September and hit theaters in the U.S. later that month. Since then, it has become Anderson’s biggest box-office success, earning over $100 million worldwide.
Critics have praised the movie across the board. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a 95% positive rating, with many calling it Anderson’s most entertaining and ambitious project yet. Metacritic also gave it high marks with a score of 95, showing that both audiences and critics are strongly behind it. Viewers have also given the film top grades, with CinemaScore reporting an “A” rating.
Reviewers have described the movie as fast-paced and emotional. Brian Tallerico from RogerEbert.com called it “remarkably propulsive” and “eventually moving,” while Justin Chang from The New Yorker noted its mix of “tenderness and fury.” Manohla Dargis from The New York Times labeled it “wild and thrilling.”
However, not everyone was convinced — William Bibbiani from The Wrap said the film felt “scattershot” and “overly long,” suggesting it focused more on surface-level themes than depth.
Still, Taylor Swift’s glowing comments have only added more buzz to a film that’s already being called one of the year’s biggest hits. With such strong reviews and an all-star cast, One Battle After Another seems to have struck the right chord with audiences and critics alike.
