WHEN DOES 'LANDMAN' START? RELEASE DATE FOR NEW PARAMOUNT+ DEMI MOORE SHOW

The hype isn't just building for new drama series Landman, it's already here.

The show is the latest offering from Taylor Sheridan, the man behind Yellowstone and its prequel series' 1883 and 1923, and is based on the documentary podcast Boomtown.

Starring the likes of Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Ali Larter and Jon Hamm, Landman will tell the story of the oil business in West Texas. Thornton will play the role of Tommy Norris, an oil crisis executive who tries to bring his company to the top during an oil boom. It is understood Moore will play Cami Miller, a close friend of Norris' and the wife of a Texas oil titan. Michael Pena and Andy Garcia will also guest star in the show.

Landman will premiere on Paramount + on November 17. There are a total of 10 episodes in the series and the first two will be available to watch immediately.

The show gets its inspiration from the 11-part documentary podcast Boomtown, from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly, which told the story of the Texan oil industry. Boomtown host Christian Wallace worked as a co-creator with Sheridan on Landman.

The show was primarily filmed in and around the city of Fort Worth in Texas.

And it seems that fans can't wait to get their first glimpse of Landman. In the last day alone, Google Trends data reveals that searches for "Landman trailer" and "Landman release date" are up 300 and 80 percent respectively.

"Boomtown podcast" is a breakout search on Google—meaning the search term has grown in popularity by more than 5,000 percent in the past day.

The second trailer for the series was released in late October.

Describing her role in Landman at a talk at the American Pavilion during the Cannes Film Festival in May, Moore said: "I play an oil tycoon's wife... lots of nice clothes. The substance of it is really exploring the issues around oil, petroleum, on all sides...and then of course there's—as Taylor does so well—there's delicious drama within and family dynamics."

Speaking in more detail about what fans can expect from the show, Thornton recently told British TV network ITV: "It's about the ins and outs, the ups and downs, the good and the bad and ugly of the oil business.

"It's how we get the oil out of the ground and how dangerous it is and the people that worked in it or around it. It's about families that are affected by it, so it's not just a series about oil, it's also about the lifestyle of the people and what it does to them."
