The controversy surrounding the NFL's pick for the Super Bowl 2026 halftime show headliner has been brewing for several months. Now it's come to a head as Turning Point USA has unveiled the lineup for its alternative halftime show hosted by Kid Rock.
The NFL announced that Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny would headline the 2026 halftime show back in September 2025. It took about a week for President Donald Trump, House Speaker Mike Johnson and other Republicans to begin calls to boycott the NFL over the announcement.
Here's what to know about TPUSA's All-American Half-time show and how to watch.
Turning Point USA's All-American Half-time show will air around 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8, to coincide with Bad Bunny's performance.
It can be streamed on Turning Point USA social media channels, including YouTube, X, and Rumble.
In addition to social media, the program will air on partner platforms, including Daily Wire+, Real America’s Voice, TBN, CHARGE!, The National News Desk, NTD.com, and OAN News.
The acts will include Kid Rock, along with country artists Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett.
In a release announcing the lineup, Kid Rock said, "We're approaching this show like David and Goliath. Competing with the pro football machine and a global pop superstar is almost impossible … or is it?"
Kid Rock is a close ally of President Donald Trump, becoming more outspoken in his conservative beliefs in recent years. He also performed at the Republican National Convention in 2024.
Both Gilbert and Brice are mid-level stars in the country music space; Gilbert is known for hits like "Dirt Road Anthem" and "Bottoms Up," while Brice is known for tracks like "One of Them Girls" and "Rumor." Barrett is the only female performer so far announced, breaking through with her hit single "I Hope."
Bad Bunny, the first Latin artist in history to have 100 career hits on the Billboard Hot 100, has been an outspoken critic of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In 2025, Bad Bunny canceled the entire U.S. leg of his world tour over fears that his audience might become a target.
In October, President Donald Trump called the NFL's choice of Bad Bunny, who sings predominantly in Spanish, to headline the halftime show "absolutely ridiculous."
Trump went so far as to indirectly threaten Bad Bunny by saying he would have ICE agents on hand waiting for him at the Super Bowl.
The NFL has stood by its decision to have Bad Bunny lead the halftime show. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Oct. 22 said choosing the Grammy-winning Puerto Rican artist as their halftime show headliner was "carefully thought through," according to The Associated Press.
The 2026 Super Bowl is scheduled to kick off at 5:30 p.m. CT. Fans who want to watch pregame festivities, the national anthem, team introductions, the coin toss and more will want to turn the game on earlier.
"Road to the Super Bowl," an hourlong NFL Films documentary looking back at the Patriots' and Seahawks' 2025 season, will kick off NBC's pre-Super Bowl programming at 11 a.m. CT.
If you're planning on watching the 2026 Super Bowl on cable, you'll need to tune in to your local NBC station. Here's what channel you'll find the game on, depending on your cable provider:
