RAIDERS ALREADY TAKING AIM AT PATRICK MAHOMES AND HE RESPONDS

UPDATE:

Patrick Mahomes has noticed the Kermit the Frog video and he responded by saying “it will get handled.”

Raiders coach Antonio Pierce said Friday morning that the situation was handled as a team and “it’s over.”

This is one way to get the Kansas City Chiefs to move on from Jon Gruden’s infamous victory lap around Arrowhead Stadium four years ago.

The Las Vegas Raiders are just two days into training camp and their focus is on their rivalry with the Chiefs, who have won eight straight AFC West titles and the past two Super Bowl championships, is clear.

Thursday, a video of the some of the Raiders having fun with a Kermit The Frog puppet with a Patrick Mahomes jersey on it went viral.

The video shows rookie seventh-round pick Trey Taylor mocking Mahomes’ famous “I’m here” quote. Mahomes, of course, has a Kermit the Frog-like voice he is famous for. Several Las Vegas teammates were cheering Taylor on. It’s believed that a fan brought the doll to the practice.

Interestingly, the videos from X have been deleted. Yet, many, many people have seen it,

The Raiders have Mahomes on their minds. Earlier in the offseason, first-year full-time Las Vegas head coach Antonio Pierce said the team has a plan to stop Mahomes by going after him. The Raiders showed how that plan can work when they smothered Mahomes in an upset win at Arrowhead Stadium on Christmas Day. Pierce basically won the full-time job that day.

But the way, the Chiefs went onto win the next six games, including the Super Bowl — on the Raiders’ home field at Allegiant Stadium.

The Raiders are just 2-8 all-time against Mahomes and the Chiefs are undefeated in Las Vegas. Mahomes dropped his “I’m here” the Raiders’ players had fun with on Raiders’ star pass-rusher Maxx Cosby during the midst of a big Kansas City comeback win.

The Chiefs were miffed at Gruden’s bus antics and they will clearly remember the latest moves from the Raiders. Mahomes is famous for holding grudges.

In fact, Thursday, his performance coach already chimed in.

The Raiders host Kansas City on October 27 and the Raiders visit Kansas City on Nov. 29.

Here we go.
