FALL FOR GREENVILLE VOTED ONE OF THE BEST FALL FESTIVALS BY USA TODAY READERS: WHAT TO KNOW

The days are getting darker, and that can only mean the chilly seasons are upon us.

Summer may be coming to a close, but that doesn't mean there's going to be any less fun to go around for Upstate residents. Fall is the time of the year for apple picking, carving pumpkins, snapping your best fall foliage photos and getting lost in a corn maze.

It is also the time of the year when Greenville's award winning festival takes place.

USA TODAY's 10Best readers poll just dropped, and Fall for Greenville was named one of the best fall festivals to attend in the nation, ranking No. 5.

Here's why the festival is being called one of the best.

Greenville is a 'happening' city

In USA TODAY's 10Best mention, Fall for Greenville's entertainment and restaurants were highlighted. The festival gives guests a taste of Greenville's culinary scene, with 50 restaurants featuring over 250 dishes. Eighty musical acts also jam across six stages, giving local artists exposure to travelers from outside the area who visit to partake in the festivities. The annual event is held every second weekend in October and takes place for three days.

"Fall for Greenville is one of the South's most popular festivals and a great way to get to know this happening South Carolina city." said USA TODAY.
