‘BLACK MIRROR' SEASON 7 CAST REVEALED

The Black Mirror season seven cast is out - and not only is it star-studded, it also includes some former series stars.

Here is the list of the season's lead actors (in alphabetical order):

Awkwafina (Jackpot), Milanka Brooks (Mum And I Don't Talk Anymore), Peter Capaldi (Criminal Record), Emma Corrin (Deadpool & Wolverine), Patsy Ferran (Firebrand), Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers), Lewis Gribben (Blade Runner 2099), Osy Ikhile (Citadel), Rashida Jones (Sunny), Siena Kelly (Domino Day), Billy Magnussen (Road House), Rosy McEwen (Blue Jean), Cristin Milioti (The Penguin), Chris O'Dowd (Bridesmaids), Issa Rae (Barbie), Paul G. Raymond (Horrible Histories), Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish), Jimmi Simpson (Westworld) and Harriet Walter (Succession).

The cast announcement dropped on Thursday, along with a cryptic asset on X referencing Tuckersoft, an Easter egg for viewers familiar with the company in some of the Netflix anthology's episodes.

Milioti, Magnussen, Simpson, Brooks and Ikhile will be returning for the follow up to their season four space epic, the Emmy-winning "USS Callisterepisode - which marks the first time creator Charlie Brooker has ever done a true Black Mirror sequel. And Jones, who penned season three's social media takedown "Nosedive," will now be returning in front of the camera.

Additional information about specific episodes and characters is under wraps - as would be expected from the always secretive dystopian series. Season seven is currently filming and will be returning to Netflix in 2025 with six episodes.

Here is the logline: "Charlie Brooker's dark, satirical anthology series will return in 2025 with six brand new episodes, including a sequel to the sci-fi adventure USS Callister."

The idea for the highly anticipated "USS Callister" sequel was brewing for a long time, Brooker recently explained to The Hollywood Reporter. "And it's partly because of the way that it ends," he said. "The first one ends like you could just carry that story on and follow where they go now. … There were various iterations it went through, various version we wanted to do and were discussing on and off for several years. But there are a lot of schedules to sort out, and then the pandemic got in the way. It was something that looked like it wasn't going to happen, and so I was delighted when it did."

At the time, no cast was confirmed. But Brooker teased: "We continue the story from where we left off. And there are some new characters as well. There is new stuff to do with where they've now ended up versus where they were."

Produced by Broke & Bones, Black Mirror season seven is created by writer Brooker, and executive produced by Brooker with Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones. The series is licensed by Banijay Rights.
