LACEY CHABERT SAYS REUNITING ON SCREEN WITH BRENNAN ELLIOTT WAS “A JOY”

These two fan-favorite Hallmark stars have now made ten movies together for the network.

Hallmark fans are having a wish granted this weekend when two fan favorite stars reunite on screen. His and Hers stars Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott. “This is our tenth movie together,” Chabert recently told Southern Living. It was clear that the Mississippi native was just as excited as the viewers are about this duo sharing the screen again.

First they starred together in the All of My Heart films, and then who could forget A Christmas Melody as that one starred another Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey. But most notably, the pair starred opposite one another in the very popular Hallmark Mystery series, The Crossword Mysteries.

Now, three years later, Chabert and Elliott are back in a brand new story.

“We’re playing husband and wife in this. We are attorneys who get put on the same case and we are on opposing sides,” Chabert explained.

“It causes us to look at our marriage and reflect a little bit and ask some questions. It’s a funny movie. It’s really heart warming at the same time and it was a joy to reunite with Brennan.”

Per the official logline:

"Married couple Dana (Chabert) and Mark Chernich (Elliott) are both top-tier lawyers at competing New York City law firms. Their professional worlds collide, however, when they’re assigned as opposing counsel in a high-profile divorce case involving a famous reality TV couple. As they navigate the legal battles in court, their personal lives feel the strain. With their marriage on the line, Dana and Mark must rely on their wits, humor, and love for each other to make it through the case unscathed. Along the way, they rediscover the strength of their bond and gain a fresh perspective on both their careers and relationship."

Super fans of The Crossword Mysteries movies may have noticed something of an Easter egg in this plot as the two play attorneys. In The Crossword Mysteries: A Puzzle to Die For, Elliott’s character, a detective, tells Chabert’s character, “I didn’t always want to be a cop. I planned to go to law school.”

Chabert shared more about what it was like to be back on set with Elliott. “There is a short hand and that’s the comfort of working with someone that you know so well and that you’re friends with in real life. There’s that trust and it really makes my job so much easier.”

His and Hers premieres on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, September 7 at 8 p.m. EST. It’s a busy week for Chabert as her new unscripted show Celebrations premieres on Hallmark + on Tuesday, September 10.
